Reply to the Boschetti's comments on the paper: “Lithium-rich geothermal brines in Europe: An up-date about geochemical characteristics and implications for potential Li resources” by Sanjuan et al. (2022)

Résumé

The Boschetti’s comments are mainly focused on the estimation of reservoir temperatures for the deep Li-rich brines from Salton Sea (California, USA) and Cesano (Italy) as well as that of the South Crofty Mine (UK) waters, using the new Na-Li geothermometric approach involving the equilibrium reactions and thermodynamic data published in Boschetti (2022). In our opinion, this approach is very useful and complementary to the use of the Na-Li thermometric relationships existing in the literature (Fouillac and Michard, 1981; Kharaka et al., 1982; Kharaka and Mariner, 1989; Michard, 1990; Sanjuan et al., 2014).
