From the new aquifer reference system BDLISA in France to the hydrologic map of France at a scale of 1/1 000 000

Résumé

BDLISA (database of aquifer system delineation) is the new aquifer reference system in France. It covers the metropolitan France and overseas departments and it delineates hydrogeological units, not only aquifer reservoirs but also semi-pervious and impervious units, at three different scales, local, regional and national, according to rules defined by a national methodology elaborated with the collaboration of the International Office for Water (OIEAu). BDLISA has been built by the French Geological Survey (BRGM) over a period of more than ten years. It was funded by the Ministry of Ecology, the French National Agency for Water and Aquatic Systems (ONEMA) and the six French Water Agencies. Compared to the previous reference system (BDRHFV1), BDLISA identifies deep units (quasi-3D system) and is based on innovative building concepts: ranking principle, completeness, filiation, inheritance. It is controlled by a management model (developed with ArcGis©), which makes it possible to combine the totality of the local units in order to test the topological consistency, detect anomalies, correct automatically the artifacts and build regional and national entities by grouping local units. BDLISA includes a system of unique identification of the aquifers, giving to every user the possibility: - To handle and exchange the information integrated into the database associated with the reference system; - To ensure a coherence of delineation of groundwater resources over the national territory; - To contribute to the production of the necessary knowledge to operate the national and community policies on groundwater and to target their actions. To complete BDLISA, a hydrogeologic map of France at a scale of 1/1000 000 is under construction and will be presented during this congress. Compared to BDLISA which is intended for experienced users, this map will be a communication tool for those who would like to be kept informed about the typology and the variety of groundwater resources of the national territory : general public, teaching...
