Risques côtiers à Sri Lanka - Approches par GIS, scénarios et modelisation = Coastal risks In Sri Lanka - GIS, scenarios and modelling approaches

Résumé

Following the 26/12/2004 tsunami in the Indian Ocean, a GIS on the hazards and Coastal risks has been established on a pilot site of the Sri Lankan coast. This GIS integrates all the physical and human data necessary to assess the hazards and coastal risks. Meanwhile, these data have been used to dealing with numerical modelling of the waves generated during periods of monsoon as well as the December 2004 tsunami. The tsunami risk scenarios have also been carried out on test areas and validated by the fields data acquired during the project. The data obtained from the models can be further integrated into GIS and contribute to its enrichment and better assessment and restitution of these risks.
